So, it turns out that getting married takes up a lot of your time.
The big day is rapidly approaching and I’m amazed and terrified at the number of things that we still need to get done so that my fiance and I can tie the knot.
Who’d have thunk that tying 150 pink and silver bows around the favors could eat away the hours like it does? Or that trying to decide whether to go with “simple lighting” or “deluxe lighting” with the DJ could take so many emails over a week and a half?
It’s been a crazy few months in our lives, even without the wedding planning. A friend died suddenly. A cousin had his wedding cancelled with six days to go. I’ve been promoted at work, which has led to more travel (Detroit, Las Vegas and Phoenix at this very moment).
Through it all, I’ve been trying to keep my focus on what’s important: my wife-to-be and the moment when we say “I do” and the fun we’ll have celebrating with family and friends.
The countdown continues…
